Description: Bridging the Gap
Interested in an exceptional, FREE opportunity to enter the workworld well prepared to make sound decisions that will have long-lasting impacts on your personal and professional life?
Co-sponsored by GE and various UD partners, Campus to Career: Bridging the Gap delivers information not typically covered in professional preparation courses and Career Services programs.
All women students, regardless of their field of study, need to know:
- how to make sound financial decisions about credit, healthcare coverage, retirement planning, etc.;
- how their use of social media can help (or hurt) them professionally;
- how important it is to develop and manage all the aspects of their professional "brand" (e.g. interpersonal communication skills, use of technology, networking skills, workplace appropriate dress, etc.)
- the importance of (and strategies for) maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal lives
- how to build not only a career, but also a satisfying personal life, when moving to a new community
- how women professionals, just a few years older than today's students, have approached these same issues and what they've learned from their experiences.
