Women's Center: "Bridging the Gap"

Description: Bridging the Gap

Interested in an exceptional, FREE opportunity to enter the workworld well prepared to make sound decisions that will have long-lasting impacts on your personal and professional life?
Co-sponsored by GE and various UD partners, Campus to Career:  Bridging the Gap delivers information not typically covered in professional preparation courses and Career Services programs.

All women students, regardless of their field of study, need to know:
  • how to make sound financial decisions about credit, healthcare coverage, retirement planning, etc.;
  • how their use of social media can help (or hurt) them professionally;
  • how important it is to develop and manage all the aspects of their professional "brand" (e.g. interpersonal communication skills, use of technology, networking skills, workplace appropriate dress, etc.)
  • the importance of (and strategies for) maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal lives
  • how to build not only a career, but also a satisfying personal life, when moving to a new community
  • how women professionals, just a few years older than today's students, have approached these same issues and what they've learned from their experiences.

Event Details:

Campus to Career:  Bridging the Gap is Tuesday, March 12, from 4:30 - 9:00 PM in Kennedy Union.

Pre-registration (including dinner, free gifts and great door prizes) is free and required, but seats are limited and are going fast.

Registration is through UD Hire a Flyer "http://www.udayton.edu/careerservices/#7"

The 2nd Street Market is one of the coolest atmospheres that the city of Dayton has to offer, and you would be remiss if you were to miss out on this event. It offers a variety of stalls where you can shop(buying things like groceries or even arts and crafts). Not to mention, food vendors line the market down the entire place. What more could you ask for. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, great food, and an overall just awesome place to be.

Everyone should come because the 2nd Street Market is without a doubt the best place to be on a Saturday afternoon.
